In the silence of the countryside filled with voices, perfumes and images from the past which belong to the heritage of every man, immersed among the vines producing the generous Barbaresco, lives my small farm house built by an ancient farmer over 100 years ago.

His intuition and his wisdom were his precious gifts. Walls made of solid stones, two wells for water, the stable, the hay loft, the wood shed, the wheat barn, a cool cellar and a yard protected from the wind. A few rooms for our guests and the most breathtaking, colorful scenery for meditation: the Rio Sordo valley with its small train station, the neat vineyards on the hillside. In the background a string of majestic castles from La Morra to Asti. On the horizon the Alps from the Monviso to the Monte Rosa.

Maybe that ancient farmer already knew that one day his small abode was going to wake up right in the middle of the most well known and appreciated territory of our region.

The Langhe, the Roero, the Monferrato crown what once was his home.

In 1992 I started to work on my life long dream, restructuring the part of the house that for many years was a farmer’s home.

I wanted to create simple, intimate and comfortable environments for my guests. Warm colors, antique furniture, natural fabrics, the curtains from my great-grandmother Nina’s dowry, family pictures, small objects telling our story, old embroideries, yet with a modern touch to be able to provide the needed comfort. That’s the way the guest rooms came about.

In December 1999 the second part of my dream took off. I had to give the house a feeling of greater intimacy and more independence..... a true home that my guests could live as their own. I had to create some ”romantic nests”. I tried to imagine the needs of the lovers, of the families, of the young sportsmen. I set an ambitious goal for myself: to rekindle the flame often choked by habit and stress. With my great joy and satisfaction, the stable, the hay-loft, the woodshed and the wheat barn became welcoming small apartments.

”We came as guests and we left as friends...” has been one of the most rewarding comments of my guests.

I enjoy giving as much as receiving, I love life with everything it brings along, I enjoy myself this way and I grow along with my guests that I consider friends to pamper.
